Green Key
As part of our environmental efforts, we have chosen to eco-label our hotel with the global environmental certification Green Key, a collaboration and certification we are very proud of. Green Key is an international eco-label for hospitality and tourism establishments and is present in over 60 countries. The certification is internationally managed by the Foundation for Environmental Education, supported by, among others, UNEP, UNESCO, and WTO. Today, there are over 170 Green Key-certified facilities in Sweden, and all facilities undergo regular audits to ensure compliance with the criteria.
In our environmental policy, we have established environmental goals and an action plan to achieve the objectives included in the certification. We work continuously to minimize our energy and water consumption, reduce the use of chemicals, and only use eco-labeled laundry and cleaning products, as well as sort all waste.
Here are some examples of what is included in a Green Key-certified hotel, and which we naturally fulfill:
- Using 100% renewable electricity, energy-efficient lighting, and having routines for reduced energy consumption.
- Annually measuring the hotel's greenhouse gas emissions to reduce the hotel's climate impact.
- Initiatives for reducing water consumption and conserving our water resources.
- Sorting and recycling the hotel's and guests' waste.
- Using eco-labeled laundry and cleaning products.
- Offering guests several organic food options for breakfast.
- Working towards reducing food waste.
In addition to this, we take environmental aspects into account in decision-making processes, comply with applicable environmental legislation, document our efforts, and actively work to ensure that we meet the qualified requirements for eco-certification.
